Melbourne Proposal Photography

Discreet. Calm. Beautifully timed.

So you can focus on the moment.

Planning a proposal is exciting… and stressful. Timing matters. Light matters. The location matters. And the moment only happens once.

I help you plan it quietly, photograph it discreetly, and capture the reaction, the joy, and the “we just got engaged” glow — then guide a short portrait session after, so you walk away with images you’ll actually want to share.

What’s Included

The part most people don’t realise they need until they’re planning it.

  • You’ll get help with timing, location choices, and where to stand so the moment photographs beautifully - without feeling staged.

  • I blend into the environment and shoot from a distance with the right lens, so the surprise stays intact.

  • Right after the proposal, I’ll guide you into a relaxed portrait session while emotions are high and real.

  • If you want images quickly for family announcements or social sharing, priority preview is available.

  • Rest assured that all photos taken on the day will be stored onto two memory cards on the camera. Your significant memories are safe.

Proposal Frequently Asked Questions

  • As early as you can. Popular dates and golden hour times go quickly. If it’s last minute, still enquire — I’ll tell you honestly if it’s doable.

  • Yes. I’ll recommend options based on your vibe: architectural, garden, coastline, quiet, iconic, or private.

  • We plan a covered backup, shift timing, or reschedule if needed. The goal is to protect the surprise and the experience.

  • When it matters, no. I photograph from a distance and arrive early so I’m already “part of the scene.”

  • We absolutely do. Flights and accommodation can be arranged by you or reimbursed.

  • Each proposal collection includes a clear starting point, so you know what to expect. In many cases, I deliver more when the moment and portrait session naturally produce more strong images.

  • Depending on the season, it takes 2-6 weeks to receive your final photos. I make sure each image receives the time and attention it deserves to be perfected. If you need it sooner, I offer a priority delivery service.

  • In general I recommend and prefer not to alter your natural appearance, except for addressing temporary features like skin blemishes, bruises, scrapes, or acne—unless, of course, you prefer them to be retained in the photos. If there's anything specific you're self-conscious about, please inform me, and I will be particularly mindful of that aspect while posing you.

For other situations, I happen to be pretty good at photoshop and I charge an hourly rate.

  • No. The final photographs are delivered fully edited in my signature style, which is an essential part of the finished work.

  • In the unlikely event that I am unable to photograph your proposal, I would notify you as early as possible and help arrange a trusted replacement photographer or a full refund, depending on timing and your preference.
